Auburn Hills is located in Oakland County and is known for being home to the headquarters for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The FCA US LLC Headquarters and Technology Center is the North American headquarters and primary research and development facility for the automobile manufacturer FCA US LLC (commonly known as Chrysler). Completed in 1996, the complex has 5,300,000 square feet and is located next to Interstate 75.

Great Lakes Crossing

Auburn Hills is home to Michigan’s largest indoor outlet mall, Great Lakes Crossing. It was constructed and is still partially owned by local company, Taubman Centers. It contains 185 stores, restaurants, and an AMC movie theatre. It’s home to several well-known attractions, including LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, the ultimate indoor Lego playground. Here, families with young children can enjoy a world of creativity, color, and building fun. It is also home to SEA LIFE Michigan, the state’s largest aquarium with over 250 species and 2,000 creatures, including sharks, rays, green sea turtles, and more. If you’re looking for a fun-packed day indoors where you can shop, eat and play, Great Lakes Crossing is the place to be.

Topgolf

Topgolf is a premier entertainment destination known more for its sport of socializing than its golf swing. Topgolf features dozens of climate-controlled hitting bays for year-round use and comfort. It also has HDTVs showcasing the latest games in every bay and throughout the sports bar & restaurant. It plays host to many corporate and association events and activities. You don’t have to know how to play golf. The food and camaraderie shared are enough to indulge one’s senses.

Olde World Canterbury Village

If you like Christmas, you will love Old World Canterbury Village. Located right outside of Auburn Hills in the nearby village of Lake Orion, it’s Christmas every day. The village features a large assortment of specialty holiday items, decorations, ornaments, and fun-filled events for the whole family. The venue includes a wedding chapel, a hall for hosting special events, planned activities, and a restaurant and pub.

Hawk Woods Nature Center

Hawk Woods offers endless opportunities for outdoor recreational activities. This unique facility offers nature trails, heated restrooms, and facilities that are open year-round. It also houses a covered picnic shelter that can be reserved during the summer, as well as six overnight camping cabins, surrounded by 80 acres of beautiful woods, meadows, and marsh.

Clinton River Trail

For the adventurous type, Auburn Hills offers The Clinton River Trail. It is a 16-mile recreational trail that runs along an abandoned rail line through the heart of Oakland County. It spirals through the cities of Sylvan Lake, Pontiac, Auburn Hills, Rochester Hills, and Rochester. The surrounding landscape includes downtowns, industry, residential areas, and parks. It is called the Clinton River Trail because it roughly parallels and frequently crosses the Clinton River. Put on your bike helmet or running shoes and tour the heart of several Oakland County cities.
