Top Guard combines all of Top Lawn’s pest control expertise into one full-season program. Top Guard is the number one solution to keeping all those annoying pests like ants and earwigs out of your home. It also allows your family and pets to enjoy their outdoor living space mosquito, flea and tick free. The best part of all? Your valuable lawn will be protected from turf damaging insects such as sod, webworm, and chinch bugs. Top Guard starts in the spring when insects first awake from dormancy and continues to protect until they once again become inactive in the fall.

Mosquito Control
Top Lawn will create and maintain a mosquito barrier around the perimeter of your outdoor living area so that your family can enjoy the warm weather without fear of mosquitos. Treatments begin in spring when temperatures consistently reach 50 degrees and end in fall when temperatures drop below 50 degrees. Throughout the summertime, we schedule treatments every 28 to 35 days, depending on mosquito populations. Each treatment specifically targets mosquito breeding grounds and their common gathering areas. These areas include but are not limited to:
- Mulch beds
- Ground cover
- Wood lines
- Trees & shrubs
- Decks
- Patios
Perimeter Pest Control
Top Guard creates a “shield” around the perimeter of your home to keep unwanted pests outside. Treatments begin in spring and are scheduled every 28 to 35 days through fall when insects go dormant. We will treat a six to eight-foot band around the entire foundation of your house, specifically focusing on entry points. These include but are not limited to:
- Window wells
- Crawl space
- Doorways
- Decks
- Ground cover
- Mulch beds

Integrated Pest Management
Top Lawn uses an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system. It is a broad-based approach that focuses on long-term prevention of pests and their damage through a combination of techniques. They include prevention, avoidance, monitoring, and suppression. When chemical pesticides are necessary, a preference is given to products and methods which maximize public safety. Here are a few ways you can use IPM at home:
- Keep tree branches well-trimmed and away from the house
- Remove old tires and containers from the yard that can fill up with water and provide breeding grounds for pests
- Make sure gutters and downspouts are unclogged
- Keep windows and vents properly screened
- Seal up any cracks and holes on the outside of your home including areas where utilities and pipes enter
Summer Insect Control
Top Lawn will treat all grass areas during the summer’s hottest months to protect the lawn from turf-damaging insects and annoying pests. Treatments begin in spring and are scheduled every month through fall when insect populations typically go dormant and are no longer a threat.
Surface Insect Control works best on the following insects:
